About Kimberly

Kimberly T. Hutchins, LMHC joined the former Harborside Counseling practice in 2006 after working for many years in Director positions for child outpatient, home-based and residential programs. Kim earned her Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Maine in 1994 and her Masters degree in Counseling psychology from Northeastern University in 1996. Since then, Kim has been licensed and working extensively in various clinical capacities with children, adolescents, parents, families and couples in various settings including school, home and community based, outpatient, residential and private practice. Kim is a member of multiple professional organizations and groups and is on the Board of Directors for clinical, family and youth services collaboratives.

Kim specializes in developmental and behavioral disorders in children of all ages, including ADHD, spectrum disorders, relational, anxiety and mood based difficulties. She also specializes in family systems, divorcing, divorced and blended families, co-parenting, parent coordination, reunification, school support, learning disabilities, coping skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, social emotional struggles, behavior modification and management, OCD, trauma, life transitions, adjustment disorders, stress management, self-development and improvement, self-realization, care and advocacy, women's issues and is trained as a Collaborative Divorce Coach.

Kim sees clients, individually, as couples, as families and in groups and uses a variety of clinical approaches to address needs in treatment. She is strength-based and focuses her work on utilizing these strengths, developing insights, recognizing patterns, increasing understanding and developing strategies to address and improve outlook and functioning and relationships.

Kim provides school and family consultation services, advocacy and support as well as short term review and assessment of needs and referrals for other appropriate testing and services. Kim also provides mentoring, guidance and supervision for licensing professionals.
