About Ed

Ed & Daisy

I am offering video therapy through the Zoom app while Covid-19 restrictions exist.

Please call me at (978) 778-6133 in order to set up an appointment.

I offer client-based psychotherapy that focuses on relationship with self and personal environment. I strive to help my clients find new ways of gaining perspective on problems, adapting to life transitions, identifying strategies to decrease anxiety and depression, improving the quality of their relationships and coping with experiences of loss. I work from a strengths-based perspective utilizing Psychodynamic therapy as well as narrative and solution focused techniques among other approaches.

My practice is with Adults, Young Adults (ages 16+), Couples and Families. Some examples of Issues that I treat from each category:
YOUNG ADULTS: Peer relationships, evolving sexual identity, evolving independence, transition from high school to college,
transition to working world, and grief.
ADULTS: Evolving life goals, finding balance with the many roles in one’s life, difficulty finding a life partner, divorce, and grief.
COUPLES COUNSELING: Transition to life partnership, conflict resolution, parenting, stay-at-home parenting, and empty nesting.

When engaged in family counseling my work is based on my belief that each family member has a unique perspective on life and their family, unique life challenges, strengths and vulnerabilities that affect family functioning. Family functioning level is increased by each member’s understanding of the a uniqueness of each family member and adapting to that uniqueness. This understanding and adaptation are the basis for conflict resolution and increasing the depth of the family bond.

I have a female golden doodle therapy dog named Daisy who is present at most sessions

The insurances I accept are Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, Always, United Healthcare, Tufts, and Medicare.
